Spinach dosa is a healthy and delicious South Indian breakfast dish that is made with a batter of fermented rice and urad dal, and blended with fresh spinach leaves. I love to try different versions of Dosa. After Spinach Ada next in my list to try is dosa for quite sometime.. Most of the time I make keerai kootu or Keerai Sambar. My kids love those. Since they have full meals at home only during weekends I ended up doing either one. These days they are at home so almost all the meals are at home. so I had decided to do this recipe for last weekend’s dinner. It came out very well
Ingredients for Making Spinach Dosa:
Idli rice – 2.5 cups
Raw rice – 1/2 cup
Urad dal / Urad dhal – 1/4 cup
Fenugreek seeds – 1/4 teaspoon
Green chillies – 3
Cumin seeds – 1 teaspoon
Spinach – 1 medium bunch (Cooked 1 cup)
Step by step method to make Spinach dosa:
Wash and soak rice, Urad dhal and fenugreek seeds for 4-6 hrs
Heat pan and add cleaned and chopped spinach, salt, cumin seeds and green chillies. Let it cook. Switch it off and let it cool down
Grind soaked Rice with salt. Add cooked spinach and grind it to dosa batter consistency
Heat flat pan and pour laddle full of batter and spread outward and sprinkle oil. let it cook. Turn it over and cook again
Serve hot
