Kaikuthal Rice Idli Dosa

healthy idli / dosa with unpolished / handpound rice. Hand pound rice is low in GI & suitable for diabetics

Ingredients

  • 1.5 cup idly rice
  • 1.5 cup kai kuthal rice
  • .5 cup urad dal
  • 1/4 tsp fenugreek seeds
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for cooking dosa

Instructions

  • Wash and soak rice together for 6-7 hrs or overnight
  • wash and soak urad dal & fenugreek seeds together for 6-7 hrs or overnight
  • Grind urad dhal till fluffy by adding cold water at regular intervals. Remove it Grind rice with required water(add water at regular interval)Add urad dal batter, salt and grind for 2 more mins.
  • Remove it. Let it ferment for 5-7 hrs
  • Heat water in Idli pan.  pour batter.
  • Cook for 10-13 mins or till inserted stick comes out clean.
  • : Let it cool down for a min. Remove it. Serve hot
  • heat dosa pan. Pour the batter and spread outward to get nice crisp dosa. Drizzle oil around it. Let it cook till dosa browned slightly
  • Once done remove it and serve hot
