Ragi Kozhukattai

Kozhukattai is a must for Ganesh Chathurti &  is healthy well balanced evening snack. This version is made with Millets (Finger/ Ragi)

Ingredients

For Stuffing

  • 1 cup Coconut
  • 3/4 cup Jaggery
  • 1/4 tsp Cardamom
  • Salt a pinch
  • 1 tsp Ghee

For Kozhukattai

  • 1 cup Ragi flour
  • 3 tbsp Idiyappam flour
  • Salt to taste
  • Boiling water to make the dough

Instructions

  • Heat Ghee in a pan. Add coconut, jaggery, cardamom powder pinch of salt, and mix well. Continue to cook till Jaggery melted and it forms a nice mass. Switch it off.
  • Take Ragi, rice flour, and salt. Add boil water bit by bit to make smooth dough
  • Take Lemon size Ragi dough and make a cup. Place small coconut ball
  • Bring all the sides together and make modak.  arrange it in the greased plate
  • Steam it for 13-15 mins in a medium flame or till it is shinny & not sticky
  • Once done switch it off. And remove it. Serve it!
