Ingredients
1cupUrad dal (wash and soaked overnight)
1Onion sliced
1tspGarlic paste
1/2tspGinger paste
1green chili
1tomatochopped
1/2tspTurmeric powder
1tbspCoriander powder
1/2tspCumin powder
3/4tspGaram masala
salt to taste
1tbspcoriander leaves
For Tempering
1inchCinnamon
1bay leaf
1Cardamom
1Star spice
2tbspOil
1tspCumin seeds
Instructions
Heat oil. Add Cinnamon, Bayleaf, Cardamom, Star spice. Add Cumin seeds. let it crackle. Add onion and garlic, Ginger paste. Fry for a min. Add tomatoes fry for another min
Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, garam masala, roasted cumin powder & required salt. Fry for a min. Add water. Let it boil
Add soaked urad dal and required water. adjust Salt. Pressure cook for 8-10 whistles
Switch it off. Let it cool down. Open the lid. Mash the dal with potato masher. Heat again add coriander leaves.
