Ragi sweet kolukattai / kozhukattai – finger millet sweet kolukattai – Sweet steamed dumplings – Pooja recipes – GANESH CHATURTHI RECIPES | VINAYAKA CHAVITHI RECIPES

I love Ragi. I normally make dishes with Ragi at least once a week. I am so lucky as my whole family likes this grain. This dish is rich in iron also healthy as it contains less oil. It is suitable for diabetic patients as well. Perfect snack to enjoy without any guilt
Ingredients:

Finger Millet Flour (Ragi flour) – 1 cup
Mung Daal – 1/4 cup
Grated coconut – 1/4 cup
Powdered Jaggery – 1/2 cup to 3/4 cup ( I have used only 1/2)
Cardamom powder – 1/2 teaspoon

Method:

1.Add 1/2 cup water to jaggery, heat it till the jaggery dissolves and filter the impurities. Dry roast Ragi flour till nice armoa comes out of it and keep it aside. When it cool down add coconut gratings to it. Dry roast mung daal for 3 mins and pressure cook till it is just cooked (when you press with hand it should be soft but not mushy).

3.Now combine aggery water, cardamom powder and knead it to a dough, sprinkle water if needed. Roll them into balls/cylinders. Arrange it in idli plates and steam it for 10-13mins

Serve hot!
