Vegetarian Momos – Steamed Momos recipe – Healthy snack

Momos are one of my favourite snack. In fact we go to one of the restaurant in Little India just for their Momos. Their version is fried one.. I have posted fried momos in my space before.  My favourite is steamed momos. My kids love fried one. Both are good after school snack for the kids. I find the Chinese dumplings almost tastes the same. Whenever I visit China vegetarian dumplings one of the main dish for my meals
Ingredients


Mixed vegetables – 1.5 cups ( Carrot, cabbage and beans)
White button mushroom – 300g (Clean and chopped finely)
Soya sauce – 1 teaspoon
Pepper powder – 1/2 teaspoon (adjust to your spice level)
Salt to taste
Ginger – 1 inch (finely chopped)
Garlic – 5 pods (finely chopped)
Oil – 1 teaspoon
Green chillies – 2 (finely chopped)


For dough 


All purpose flour – 1 cup
Salt as required
Oil – 1 teaspoon



Method:
Make a dough 
Heat the pan and add oil. When it is hot add ginger garlic and fry till garlic is brown in color. Add Mushroom, green chillies and fry till it is cooked.

When it has bit of water add rest of the vegetables, salt and fry it in high flame for 2 mins. Add pepper powder, soya sauce. And mix well. Fry for another 2 mins. Switch it off

Mix Maida with salt,water and a tsp of oil to make a soft pliable dough.Keep it covered for 30 minutes.

Now take the dough and make very small sized ball even size.  Roll it to make a thin small outer skin. Keep 1 teaspoon of stuffing in the middle. and fold it to the desired shape.

Arrange it in greased idli plate and steam it for 10-15 mins.

 Serve hot
