Koya Modak Recipe – Mawa Modak Recipe – Mawa Saffron modak recipe – Saffron Koya Modak recipe – Easy Ganesh chaturthi recipes – Pooja recipe

Koya / Mawa modak is very simple and rich recipe.  I had this mold for a while but never get a chance to  use it 🙂 Because my previous helper is good in getting modak shape in hand.. When I saw this recipe in the internet as well as in TV I loved the cute shape of it and you can get that only with mold. So finally I can use my mold!. If you have Mawa this is a very fast recipe. I normally buy unsweeten mawa from India so I had this on hand .. Since this year Chathurthi fell during working day this recipe was perfect fit too
Ingredients:

Khoya / Mawa – 1 cup
Sugar – 1/4 cup
Ghee- to grease
Saffron – a pinch (optional)

Method:

Melt Khoya in low flame

Mix in Saffron into hot 2 teaspoon milk. Add this to melted mawa / Koya. Add sugar, Cardamom powder. Continue to stir till when you roll the Koya you can get nice ball.  Switch it off and make a nice a dough

Grease the mould with ghee. Fill it with Koya mixture

Smoothen the bottom portion. Unmould it carefully and grease again before you stuff next
one

Enjoy! so simple right?

Beautiful and sinful Veena. I have made these same khoya modak but my moulds were too small to capture good pictures. Can you share the measurement of your mould? They are looking deliciously gorgeous!!!
