I normally have urad dhal porridge at least once a week. I use the ready made mix for this. I run out of readymade mix so asked my mum about doing it from scratch. So this recipe is from her. This is good for health, It helps to relieve cold, high in protein so what are you waiting for! I am not a sweet tooth person. So my jaggery measurement is lower. My mum recommended 6-7 tablespoon
Ingredients:
Urad dhal – ½ Cup
Salt – a pinch
Jaggery – 2 tablespoons to 5 tablespoon (use per your
preference. I have used 2.5 tablespoon only for me it is ok)

Coconut – 1 tablespoon
Raw Rice – 1

Soak Urad dhal and rice together for 4 hours. Drain the
water and grind to a paste with little water and coconut. (It should be in
butter milk consistency). Transfer the paste to broader vessel with caradamom powder. Let it boil in medium flame for 2 mins

Melt the jaggery with ½ cup of water and Add this to the dhal paste thro’ strainer. Add a pinch of salt. Cook further for another 3-4 mins. When you reach below consistency swtich it off. Stir it very often (otherwise it will be come thick bottom).
You can roast the Urad Dhal and use it in this but raw one
is healthier

You can add 1 tablespoon of dry roasted Moon Dhal when
soaking together with urad dhal and rice.
