Masala Milk | Masala Milk Powder | Masala Milk Recipe By Veena Theagarajan

I am not a big fan of milk. I seldom drink milk. Mostly in the form of tea. However sometime ago, when I went to India I had masala milk because my colleagues told me it is pretty good.  True to their recommendation It was really good. From there on wards I do it at home once in a while. In the past few months I run out of saffron so didn’t do it. This week when I went to Mustafa I brought saffron. So finally made it

Ingredients:

1 cup – milk (Any milk, I use low fat milk)
1 teaspoon – sugar (or as per taste)
1 inch stick – cinnamon
3-6 – cloves
2 – cardamom (Open the skin before adding)
a pinch turmeric powder

1 teaspoon of Pepper (Optional)
2 teaspoon – Coarsely powdered Almond / Pista

A few strands – saffron (Soak it in hot milk)

Method:

Combine milk, cardamon, cinnamon and cloves together and boil in a vessel. discard the spices

Reduce the flame add turmeric, Pepper and saffron and boil another 30 sec

Switch off the stove.
Discard the spices by filtering the milk.
Add rest of the ingredients and serve hot.
