Oats and Besan Pancake

Having bored with normal oats Porridge(Kankji) I have decided to try something different. Today I did Oats besan pancake. I was not very sure how it will turn up. But it came out pretty good. This will go into my recipe book for sure as everyone in our family loved it



Ingredients

1 cups quick cooking rolled oats
1/4 cup besan (bengal gram flour)
1 onion , finely chopped
2 tablespoon finely chopped coriander (dhania)
2 green chillies , finely chopped

1 teaspoon cumin seeds
salt to taste


Method


  1. Combine all the ingredients in a bowl, add little water and mix well to make a smooth batter.
  2. Heat a non-stick tava and grease it lightly with oil.
  3. Pour 1/4th portion of the mixture on it and spread it evenly using a ladle 
  4. Cook on a medium flame till the pancake turns golden brown in colour on one side.
  5. Turn over and cook on a medium flame for another minute and fold over using a spatula to make a semi-circle.
  6. Serve hot with green chutney.
