Peas Pulav (Rice) – Peas Pulao with Soy Milk – One pot meal – Simple rice recipe – Lunch box recipe

I love Peas however my 2nd son is completely against it (in any form or shape) so Peas dishes pretty rare for family meals. Most of the time I do it if I am eating alone or with my 1st son.. So I have this special craze for Peas items. Whenever I get chance I will grab the opportunity (to do Peas). After quite sometime I made Peas Pulav. 
Ingredients:


Basmathi Rice – 1 Cup
Peas – 1 Cup (Frozen or fresh)
Small Onion – 1/2 Cup sliced thinly
Soya Milk – 1 Cup ( I mix Soya milk powder to get 1 cup soya milk)
Water – 1 1/2 cup
Oil – 1 Tablespoon
Ghee – 2 teaspoon
Salt as required
Cloves – 2
Cardamom – 2-3
Cinnamon – 1 Inch pieces
Bay Leaf – 1


If you don’t hv any of this and still want to Indian food you can replace Cloves, Cardamom, Cinnamon and bayleaves with Gram masala


Fry in one teaspoon oil and Grind to paste
Small onion – 10 Peeled and sliced into thin 
Garlic Flakes – 6
Green Chillies – 6 (adjust to ur spice_
Ginger – 1/2 inch
Grated Fresh coconut – 2 tablespoon (if not available u can add 2 tablespoon of Coconut milk)
Cashewnut – 4-5

Method:


1. Wash and soak rice for 10 mins
2. Drain water and fry lightly with 1/2 teaspoon of Ghee. Keep it aside

3. Cook the peas till it is tender and keep it aside
4. Heat the kada and add rest of the oil and Ghee
5. Add all masala items Cloves, Cardamom, Cinnamon and bayleaves  (if u are using gram masala u skip this)

6. Fry for 20 sec
7. Add sliced small onion

8. Fry till it is transculent
9. Add ground masala and fry till nice aroma comes

10. Pour Soya milk and water and salt

11. When it start to boil add rice and cooked Peas and mix well

12. Transfer to rice cooker and cook it (if you are using pressure cooker instead of kada use pressure cooker from step 4 and cook it for 10 mins)
13. Serve hot with spicy side dish or raita
