Lemon Rasam | Lemon Rasam Soup By Veena Theagarajan

We does rasam for the weekend as that is the time all of us have lunch at home. Even though I like Other type of rasam mostly I do Dhal rasam. Lemon rasam is one of my favourite but I miss the taste of our garden lemon. Anything can beat pluck the fresh lemon and using it in cooking?This weekend we got somebody came from India and got lemon from our garden. So decided to do Lemon Rasam

Ingredients

 Cooked with Turmeric Thuar Dhal – 1/2 cup
Green chillies – 2 (slit into 2)

Lemon juice – from 1 medium sized lemon
Salt or to taste
Chopped coriander leaves – 1 Tablespoon
Mustard seeds – 1 teaspoon
Cumin seeds – 1 teaspoon
Pepper powder – 1/2 teaspoon
Curry leaves – 1 sprig

Directions

Mash Thuar Dhal and dilute it with 2 to 3 cup o fwater
Add Green Chillies, Cumin Seeds and boil for 1 min
Add Salt, Pepper, Coriander Leaves remove from fire
Add Lemon Juice and mix well. Do not add the lemon juice while the rasam is still on heat. This makes the rasam turn bitter.
Serve Hot/cold
