Kuda Milagai Kootu (Capsicum Kootu)

I love this Kootu, I learned this from my mum. We love tomato kootu (except my 2nd son). This kootu has strong taste of tomato. The combination of tomato and capsicum is really amazing. Even one 2nd son who is not a big fan of tomato loves this. If you are bit lazy you can do this for lunch and reminder can be carried over for dinner with simple chapatti or upuma. It goes well with any upuma.

Ingredients:

2 Capsicum, cut it into small pieces (Red and Green Mix)
1 Onion, finely chopped
2 Tomato, finely chopped
Few curry leaves
2 Teaspoon of Sambar powder

1/4  teaspoon Mustard Seeds
1 Teaspoon Urud dhal
2 Teaspoon of Oil (I use Olive Oil)

1/2 Cup Cooked Thoor Dhal
2-3 Pods Garlic
Water
Salt

Rice flour 1 teaspoon – Optional

Method:

1. Heat oil in the pan, add mustard.
2. Once the mustard starts to splutter Add Urad dhal and fry till it is brown

3. Add onion, Garlic, curry leaves and fry until it become golden brown.
4. Then add tomatoes and saute for a minute.
5. Add capsicum, Sambar powder,Cooked Dhal and salt. Saute them for 1 min.
6. Add little water and cook it in pressure cooker till 2 whistle.

7. If the Kootu is watery add mix rice flour in water and add to kootu let it boil for 2 mins

This really came out very well. U should try
