Ingredients:
Plantain flower / Valai Poo- 1 (cleaned and chopped) — For how to clean you can refer to http://www.ganeshvilla.com/bananas/banana_flower_salad.htm
Tips: you can apply oil in your hand to prevent from turning black
onion – 1 (Finely Chopped)
Roasted Peanut – 2 tablespoon
mustard seeds- 1/4 teaspoon
urad dhal- 1 teaspoon
Bengal Gram Dhal – 1 teaspoon
Bengal Gram Dhal – 1 teaspoon
curry leaves – 1 string
Sambar powder – 1 teaspoon
salt – 1/4 tsp
cooking oil- 1 teaspoon
Method:
- Heat a Pan. Add oil when oil is heated add mustard seeds
- After the mustard seed pops, add Urad Dhal, Bengal Gram Dhal and Curry Leaves
- Add Onion and Fry for 2-3 mins
- Add the Chopped Valai Poo
- Stir fry everything. Add Salt and 1/4 cup water and cover the pan with a lid
- After 10 mins the valai poo will get cooked
- Add Sambar powder and mix well and cook for another 10 mins
- Mix in Roasted peanut. Mix well and serve hot as side dish to any rice
