Plain Adai Lentil Crepe

Adai and Avial is a famous south indian breakfast. This is also one of my favourite. Adai is packed with lot of protein.Adai is a combination of rice and dal. Unfortunately rest of my family is in favour of it. Adai alone not bad but both of my kids hate Avial. Still every now and then I will negotiate Adai with them. Today I wanted to try out with drum stick leaves. I also wanted to keep some plain one just in case kids don’t like it…I served with Coconut Dhal Chutney. They said it is not bad

In My mother in law place they serve with Butter (Vennai) and jaggery
Ingredients:
For batter:
Idli rice – 2 Cup
Thuar Dhal – 1/2 Cup
Onion – 1/2 (Chopped)
Coconut – 2 tablespoon
Curry leaves – 2 string
Asafetida- small ball
Dry red chillies – 6

Method:
Wash the rice and dal, till the water runs clean.
Soak together in water up to 5 to 6 hours.
An hour before grinding add the red chilli and soak again
Grind the Rice, Dhal, red chilli together with Curry leaves, Onion, Salt and Asafetida
This should be little coarse than normal Dosa.

Heat the flat tawa

Pour one ladle-ful on  tawa and spread into a circle. Make sure the dosa is not too thick.
When it is brown (Will take a min or so) turn over to other side and cook till it is done on the otherside also
