Ingredients
Ridge Gourd (Peerkankai) – 1
Red Chillies – 2 to 3
Urad Dhal – 1 teaspoon
Bengal Gram Dhal – 1 teaspoon
Roasted Gram Dhal – 1 Teaspoon
Coconut – 1 tablespoon (Optional)
Ginger – 1 inch
Curry leaves – 1 string
Tamarind – A big Gooseberry size
Salt – 1 teaspoon or as per taste
Oil – 2 teaspoons
Mustard seed – 1/4 teaspoon
Method:
Select the young Ridge Gourd
Wash and remove only the ridges on the gourd and cut it along with the skin into medium size pieces.
In a kadai put 2 teaspoon of oil and fry urad dhal, Bengal Gram Dhal, roasted gram dhal, Coconut, red chillies,ginger,curry leaves along with the tamarind.Fry till dhals become brown.
Add the peerkankai pieces and fry on a medium flame till it becomes soft.
Remove and cool it.
Combine all the ingredients and grind it
Season it with mustard.
