- Avaraikai- 500g
- Thuar Dhal – 1/3 cup
- Red Chillies – 3 ( I use Red Chillies in green vege so that kids can notice it) if you prefer Green you can use it also
- Mustard Seeds – 1/2 teaspoon
- Urad Dhal – 2 teaspoon
- Finely chopped Onion – 1 tablespoon
- Curry leaves – 1 string
- Grated Coconut – 1 tablespoon (Optional) I don’t use it
- turmeric powder – 1/4 teaspoon
- Salt to taste
Method:
- Wash and cook thuar dhal with turmeric powder (2 Whistle)
- Wash and cut the Avaraikai into small pieces. (if you it cross it will look nice)
- In a kadai put one teaspoon oil and when it is hot add half teaspoon mustard.
- When it start to splutter add urad dhal and fry it till brown
- Add Curry leaves, Red Chillies and Avaraikai
- Add water just to cover the avaraikai with salt
- Let the
avaraikai to get cooked. You can close the Kadai - Add Thuar dhal when
avaraikai is cooked. Mix it well for 3 mins. if you are using Coconut, once cooked add grated coconut and mix for 10 sec - Transfer to serving dish
