Cherry tomato chutney recipe – Tomato Chutney recipe – Spicy Tomato chutney recipes – Chutney or Dip recipes

Normally we do chutney with red chilies. My helper told me about green chili-based chutney. I have ordered cherry tomato online and by mistake, I have ordered 2 boxes. So decided to make chutney with it instead of regular tomato. Cherry tomato tends to be sweeter than a regular tomato. I wanted to make it very spicy so I have added about 10 green chilies. You can reduce it to 4-5. It also depends on the variety you use. My chili was more towards a milder version. Use small onion for this chutney!

Ingredients:

Cherry Tomato- 200g

Small Onion – 10-15
Peeled & diced
garlic – 3 pods
salt to taste
Oil- 1 tablespoon
Mustard seeds – 1 teaspoon
Urad dal – 1 teaspoon
Curry leaves  – 10

Tamarind – 1/2 teaspoon (thick paste)

Method
Heat 2 teaspoons of oil in a pan. Add onion, garlic. Fry till transparent. Add tomato, salt & green chilies fry till mushy.

Add Tamarind and switch it off. Let it cool down

Grind it to little coarse chutney

Heat rest of oil. Add mustard seeds. Let it crackle. Add urad dal & curry leaves. Fry till brown color. Add to the chutney. Mix well

Serve it idli/ dosa or paratha
