I was talking to my helper about Aadi festival recipes and some of the recipes I have seen in blogs. She was talking about Mariamman temple kanji she used to get it at her home town. It is new to me also very simple to make. You can make this for your naivedyam / vrat food / prasadam /Prasadham during this Aadi esp for your Friday pooja. This is naturally no onion, garlic recipes. If you are doing for your regular days you can add garlic, fenugreek seeds too
Ingredients
Rice -3/4 cup
Moong dal / yellow split dhal – 2 tablespoon
Salt to taste
Grated coconut -1/4 cup
Method:
Wash rice& dal together
Add 3 cups of water, salt, and cook rice/dal for 5-7 whistles. Switch it off. Let it cool down completely
Switch it off and serve hot
