Everyone at home! looking for some simple dish / Snack to satisfy their mid-morning or mid-evening snack? also, looking for a dish that everyone loves? Then you should try this Paneer Ghee roast. This is a new recipe for me. I don’t eat much of paneer before 5 years now once in a while I start to have it. Paneer is also high in protein (& yes and calories too). So these days I take it a couple of meals every week. this is super rich with ghee and paneer together. But trust me it is worth all the calories
Ingredients
Paneer – 200g
Onion – 1 (finely chopped. Again I didn’t add due to my family preference)
White part of spring onion – 1 tablespoon (ignore if you are using onion)
Curry leaves
Ghee – 2 Tablespoon + 1 teaspoon
Lemon juice – 1.5 teaspoon
Yogurt – 1/4 cup
Salt to taste
Turmeric powder – 1/2 teaspoon
For Masala
Garlic – 4 pods
Peppercorn – 1/4 teaspoon
Cumin seeds – 1/2 teaspoon
Fennel seeds – 1/2 teaspoon
Red chilies – 4-7 (adjust to spice level)
coriander seeds – 2 tablespoons
Fenugreek seeds- 1/4 teaspoon
Tamarind – 1 small marble size ball
Method
Fry all the ingredients in 1 teaspoon of ghee.
Once cool down grind to smooth paste. Add salt, yogurt, turmeric powder, lemon juice, salt, and mix well.
Add this mixture to paneer (I have soaked in hot water for 10 mins)
Mix carefully without breaking it. Keep for 10-20 mins. Heat rest of Ghee. Add curry leaves, White part of spring onion or onion. Fry for a min. Add Marinated paneer. Cook in low flame till masala thickens and Ghee oozes out
Switch it off and Enjoy
