This is a very famous Banarasi dish with flatten rice (Aval, Poha). Love the flavour of milk & spices (and the fact it is super fast to make). This is something you can make under 20 mins. So perfect for after school snack or breakfast. If you want less spices version then this version is for you. By the name we are going to make it with peas however if you want you to add more vegetables or your favourite vegetable with the same spices. I just feel peas go well with milk, pepper etc.. This can be a good breakfast or snack box recipe. This is also no onion, garlic recipe. Now over to the recipe
Ingredients
Poha – 1 cup ( I have used thick one)
Milk – 1/2 cup
Pepper powder – 1/4 teaspoon
Green chillies – 1-2 (adjust to spice level)
Salt to taste
Sugar – 1/2 teaspoon (optional. I didn’t add)
Garam masala – 1/2 teaspoon
Coriander leaves – 1/4 cup (chopped)
Peas – 1/2 cup
cumin seeds – 1 teaspoon
oil – 2 teaspoon
Lemon juice – 1 teaspoon
Cashew – few (optional)
Hing/ asafoetida – a pinch
ginger – 1/2 inch (Finely chopped)
Method:

Heat oil. Add Cumin seeds let it crackle. Add cashew, ginger, green chillies. Fry for a min sec. Add Peas required salt, hing and sprinkle water.
Let it cook for 2 mins. Add pepper powder, garam masala, coriander leaves mix well. Cook for another min
Add soaked poha. Mix gently and sprinkle water. Adjust salt if needed. Cook at low flame for 5 more mins. Poha is ready! switch it off Add lemon juice. Mix well
