When the food is colorful it attracts more fans. I was hesitating to buy food color. But after my trip to cookie shop was too tempting. That cookie shop had very colorful attractive cookies. I decided to give in for temptation. Rainbow cookies and cakes were in my mind when I brought these colors. I got 4 colors Red, yellow, blue and green. And I have used Blue+Red for Violet,Indigo – Blue + Little red. I have followed my Shortbread cookie recipe.
Ingredients:
Butter – 287g (1.5 cups)
All purpose flour – 375g (3 cups)
Sugar – 175g (1.5 cups)
Vanilla extract – 1 teaspoon
Salt a pinch
Method:
Cream butter, vanilla extract together. Add Sugar, Salt and beat till it is soft
Add All purpose flour and bring it together to make soft dough. Divide it into 6 equal balls.
Add colors to each part and mix well.
Roll each color separately and stack it on each other in the order of Violet, blue, green, yellow, indigo and red. Roll it tightly
Cover it and keep it in fridge for 30 mins Slice it
Arrange it in baking tray. Pre heat the oven at 180 degree and bake cookies at 180 degree for 12 mins. Let it cool down completely
Store it in air tight container and enjoy

1/2 all purpose and 1/2 wheat would work if the dough dry add milk little by little
