Stained Glass Sugar cookies – Candy Cookies – Kids friendly cookies – Easy baking recipe – cookies recipe

When I first saw stained glass cookies in other blogs couple of years back I was amazed. It is really very attractive .. I wanted to do this for a while but keep getting delayed .. I am not sure whether my kids would like this version of cookies or not. For me cookies and Candy is kind of unique combo. I was attracted by the the colors of the cookies. When I was browsing my son saw that and was asking me to try it out. Finally I had the courage It came out pretty good. I got so many helping hand in making the cookies
Ingredients


All purpose flour – 3/4 cup
Whole Wheat flour – 3/4 cup
Butter – 1/2 cup
Icing Sugar – 1/2 cup
Baking powder – 1 teaspoon
Curd – 1 tablespoon 
Vanilla essence – 1 teaspoon
Salt – 1/4 teaspoon
Poppins – 1 pocket (or any coloured hard candy)



Method:


Bring Butter to room temperature. Cream butter, sugar and vanilla essence. Add yogurt and mix well. Sift All purpose flour, whole wheat flour, salt, baking powder together. Add this to creamed butter. Combine to get form smooth dough

Crush all the candies it into Coarse powder. If you want diff color separate the color before crushing

Roll the dough into 1/2 inch disk. Make cookies using preferred shape cookie cutter.
Using another cutter (smaller than previous one) cut it out in the center. Arrange it in greased baking tray

Pre heat the oven at 180 degree C. Bake the cookies for 8 mins. Take out the baking tray and fill each cookies center hole with crushed Candies.

Bake it again for 3-4 mins or till edges are browned. Take it out and let it cool down

Enjoy! store it in air tight container.
