Raw Banana Kofta Recipe – Kachchaa Kela Kofta Curry Recipe – Side dish for Rice, Roti – Vegetarian curry recipe

I love Kofta / Cutlet recipes as it serve as multipurpose.. you can either serve as snack or as part of main dish. I have seen this dish in many blogs before but never tasted it  till recently. Recently I have been visiting India more often for work so end up tasting lot of new flavours / curries.. I loved the combo. But the Gravy was very rich. I didn’t have cream on hand so I have decided to use Cashew, Melon seeds and watermelon seeds for richness.. It tasted so amazing.

Oil for deep frying
Garam masala – 1/2 teaspoon
Mint leaves – 5 (chopped finely)

For Gravy
Onion – 2 (medium size)
Tomato – 3 (medium size)
Ginger – 1 inch
Garlic – 4 pods
Kitchen king masala – 1 teaspoon (I have used MDH)
Red chilli powder – 1 teaspoon (adjust to your spice level)

Cumin seeds – 1 teaspoon
Cashewnuts – 2 teaspoon
Melon seeds – 2 teaspoon
Watermelon seeds – 2 teaspoon
Milk – 1/2 cup (for soaking seeds)

Method:
Remove the ends of banana and cut them into 2 and add Salt and turmeric powder. Cook them till when you press it you can mash it. Let it cool down and peel the skin

Mash them. Add that into broader vessel, Add All ingredients under kofta except oil. Mix them together to make smooth dough. Make small size (lemon) balls and keep it aside

Heat the deep curved pan with oil. When oil is hot reduce the flame and drop the balls slowly. Fry them till golden color in medium low flame

Drain extra oil and keep it aside on kitchen tissue

Soak Cashew, melon seeds and watermelon seeds in a warm milk for 1 hour. Grind it to smooth paste. Keep it aside

Now let’s make the gravy.. Heat 2 teaspoon of oil. Add Ginger garlic. Fry till brown in color. Add Onion fry till transparent. Add tomatoes and fry till mushy.

Add turmeric powder, kitchen masala, red chilli powder and fry till raw smell goes off. Switch off the flame and let it cool down.

Grind it to smooth paste. Heat the pan with rest of the oil. Add cumin seeds and let it crackle. Add onion paste and let it boil.

Add nuts paste (reserve 1 teaspoon for garnishing). Add 1 cup of water and salt.

Let it boil till desired consistency. Add fried kofta and mix well. Add chopped coriander leaves
