I make sundal pretty much every other day. Last week When I made sundal with Chickpea my son was mixing with carrot chutney. I asked him what he was doing.. He asked me have you tried this combo? I tried it not bad at all. I told him the next time I make Sundal I will try this for masala. So that’s the story of how this recipe was born. It is really very tasty and healthy masala too
Ingredients


Field beans / Mochai – 1 cup
Mustard seeds – 1/4 teaspoon
Urad dhal – 1 teaspoon
Oil – 1/2 teaspoon
asafoetida – a pinch
Curry leaves – 10
Coriander leaves – 1 tablespoon (finely chopped)


Fry in 1 teaspoon of oil and grind


Urad dhal – 1 teaspoon
Bengal gram dhal / Chana dhal – 1 teaspoon
Red chilli – 4-5 (adjust to your spice level)
Coriander seeds – 1/2 teaspoon
Carrot – 1/2 cup (grated)



Method


Wash and soak the beans overnight. Cook field beans (I have used pressure cooker and cooked till 4 whistle) or Mochai with salt and drain the extra water. Keep it aside. I

Heat the pan add 1 teaspoon of oil. Add urad dhal, chana dhal, red chilli, coriander seeds fry till dhals are brown in color. Add Grated carrot and fry for 2 mins. Switch it off and let it cool down. Make a coarse paste with blender or food processor.

Make a coarse paste with blender or food processor. Heat the 1/2 teaspoon of oil. Add mustard seeds let it pop. Add urad dhal, curry leaves and asafoetida. Fry till dhal is brown in color. 

Add cooked beans. Mix well. Add grinded paste mix well

Fry for 3 mins in low medium flame. Add coriander leaves and mix well.

Offer to good and get blessings or serve hot
