Garlic chutney – Garlic chutney with coconut – Simple chutney recipe – Simple dip recipe

My mum makes this version of garlic chutney more often. It is one of my favourite chutney for my idli. However you really need to peel a lot of garlic if you want to make this for an entire family. So I don’t do this very often or I make when I have other chutney in hand.  I love the flavour of the chutney with Malai poondu. But I don’t get that in markets. So I use normal garlic. But if it is possible use Malai poondu for this
Ingredients

Garlic –  25
Coconut – 1/4 cup
Red chillies – 5-7 (adjust to your spice level)
Tamarind paste – 1 teaspoon (thick)
Salt to taste
Oil – 2 teaspoon

Method:

Heat the oil and fry all the ingredients except tamarind juice one by one and let it cool. Grind the chilli, coconut and add garlic

Add garlic and water to grind it into smooth paste

Serve with your favourite dish.. I love it with idli
