Hara bhara kabab recipe – healthy snack

I always look for recipes to sneak in vegetables that we don’t like to eat. Peas is one such recipe. My 2nd son is not a big fan of peas if I add it in any gravy I will have to remove it before serving him. I had Hara bhara kabab at my cousin place. Spinach and Green Peas are main ingredients in addition to Potato. So when I saw this recipe in Venkatesh Bhat show as part of Vijay TV show I have decided to give it a try. It is a very simple and healthy recipe
Ingredients

Palak / spinach – 2 cup
Potoato – 2 (medium)
Peas – 1 cup (  I have used frozen)
Green chillies – 2-3 (Adjust to your spice level)
Ginger – 1 inch
Salt to taste
Sugar – 1/2 teaspoon
Besan flour – 3 tablespoon
Garam masala – 1/2 teaspoon
Amchoor powder – 1 teaspoon
Oil for shallow frying

Method:

Boil Potato till it is fully cooked. Mash it into smaller chunks. Wash and clean Palak. Remove the thick Stalk. Boil water and sugar. Add palak leaves. Let it boil

Strain the water and squeeze extra water out of palak. Cook the peas and strain extra water.

Add cooked Peas, Palak, Ginger, Green chillies and grind to coarse paste

Add grinded paste to mashed potato. Add besan flour (garam flour), garam masala and amchoor powder. and required salt. Mix well.

Make lemon size ball and flatten it with our hands (similar to making tikki). Heat flat pan. Arrange the tikkis and drizzle oil around it. Cook the kababs till golden brown in medium low flame. Turn it over and cook otherside.

Serve hot
