nan khatai recipe – nankhatai Recipe – Eggless cookies Recipe – Cardamom flavoured Cookies – Indian Cookies – Diwali cookie recipe

This is something I tasted when I was a small kid from local bakery. We just call it as Nei Biscuit. But recently when I started to blog I saw this name thinking it is brand new. When I was talking to my mum she told me it is similar to what you get in local bakery. Also in Singapore when I visit local friends during festival time they serve cookies. So I thought of trying out cookies for this Diwali. Try this very simple cookie recipe. You can involve your kids in the process of making and feel the Festive mood

Nutmeg powder – 1/4 teaspoon
Chopped Pistachio or your favourite nuts – for Garnishing
Melted Butter /Ghee – 3/4 cup (room temperature. I hv used Ghee)

Add in Cardamom powder, Nutmeg powder mix well. Now add all purpose flour, Gram flour, semolina, baking soda and mix well  to form smooth dough. Add water if necessary. Leave the dough for 30 mins.

Take a small ball from the dough and roll them into desired shape. Add chopped nuts on the top.

Arrange it in baking tray. Pre heat the oven at 200 degree C. Bake the cookies for 15-18 mins. Or till golden brown

Nice eggless cookies. Perhaps I will try for the coming festive season. At first I was wondering what is garam flour. Later, I found out that its gram flour. Recipe will be forwarded to my friends. They certainly crave for eggless cookies.

These look great! I've never seen chickpea flour in a cookie before but I bet the flavour is wonderful. I'll definitely be trying these sometime very soon!
