Almond Burfi – Badam Katali – Almond fudge – Simple snack – Simple Diwali sweets – Simple Deepavali sweets

This dish is my cousin’s favourite. Our whole family is not a big fan of Katali but They like the Almond katali she has done when we visited her sometime ago. You can do it either by grinding the soaked almond / badam or just using almond meal. Using almond meal is very simple. I also like the flavour of almond in cookies and cakes. I have done this few times it is so easy and perfect dish to try for beginners
Ingredients

Almond meal – 1.5 cups
Sugar – 3/4 cup
Cardamom powder – a pinch
Water – 1/2 cup
Ghee – 1 + 1/4 teaspoon

Method
In the pan dry roast the almond meal till you get new aroma or till the meal is slight brown in color. Keep it aside. Grease a plate with 1/8 teaspoon of ghee and keep it ready. In the same pan add sugar and water. Stir it till sugar is dissolved. When it is fully dissolved add roasted almond meal. Keep stir for another min or min and half. Add a teaspoon of ghee and cardamom powder. Mix well.

Keep stirring it till it forms a mass and leaves the side of wok and it will form smooth dough. Now pour this to greased plate. And smoothen it with the spoon or back of the cup. Apply rest of 1/8 teaspoon of ghee on the top. When it is slightly warm slice it into dessired shape / size using greased knife.

When it completely cool down store it in air tight container.
Enjoy it
