My 1st son has been asking for cake with chia seeds for quite some time. For one reason or other I keep postponing it. Finally I have decided to make it this weekend. This cake is dense cake but really tasted good. With oats and chia seeds it is perfect for the breakfast or tea time snack
Ingredients:
Oats – 1/2 cup
Chia seeds – 1/4 cup
Apple sauce – 1/4 cup
vanilla essence – 1 teaspoon
baking soda – 1 teaspoon
baking powder – 1 teaspoon
All purpose flour – 1 cup
Butter – 100g
Milk – 1/2 cup
Vinegar – 1 teaspoon
Sugar – 1/4 cup
Method
Shift All purpose flour, baking powder and soda. Add oats and chia seeds to it. Keep it aside
In a wider blow add soften butter, sugar and cream it together. Add vinegar to milk and keep it aside for 10 mins. Add apple sauce, vanilla essence and milk. Beat it for 30 sec ( I have used hand held electric beater). Now add dry ingredients and mix well. Grease the baking pan and add the mixture.
Pre heat the oven at 180 deg C and bake the cake for 25-27 mins or till when inserted the toothpick comes out clean
Let it cool down completely and enjoy it
