Spicy baked chana dal / Channa Dhal / baked chickpeas – guilt free snack

My kids love to snack. When they are at home they need 11 AM snack & something crunchy to go with lunch. Since they are having it more often I always look for healthier option. My kids love nuts. This one is no exception. It is so fast and healthy so what are you waiting for?

Ingredients

White Chana / Chickpeas /  Garbanzo beans / Kabul chane  – 1 cup
Oil – 1 tablespoon ( I have used olive oil)
Garlic powder – 1 teaspoon (As required)
Chaat masala – 1/2 teaspoon
Red chilli powder – 1 teaspoon
Rosemary (dry) – 1/4 teaspoon
Salt to taste

Method:

Wash and soak chickpeas. Drain soaked chickpeas.
Boil enough water with salt. Add drained chickpeas and cook for about 12-15 minutes. Don’t over cook. Cook till you are able to cut with knife. Drain the extra water.

Spread the chickpeas on tissue paper and take another kitchen tissue paper and pat the chick peas. Make sure it is dry. Pre-heat oven to 200 deg. Cel. In a cup mix rest of the ingredients. Mix well. Mix this with dried chickpeas. Mix till the spices are fully coated on chickpeas. Spread the chickpeas in a single layer on a baking plate or tray. Bake in the oven for 20 minutes at 200 deg. Cel. Bake it for 30 to 40 mins. Stir it every 10 mins. Let it cool down and store it in air tight container

Enjoy this guilt free snack
