sprouted green gram gravy – side dish for roti / rice

I had some sprouts in the fridge. I didn’t have much vegetable or didn’t soak any dals (dhals). So I have decided to gravy with sprouted green gram. It didn’t taste same as what my mum used to do. It tasted so good. I also got recipe from my mum. I will post it soon
Ingredients

Sprouted Green gram – 1.5 cup
Onion – 3/4 cup ( finely chopped)
Tomatoes – 1 finely chopped
Garlic – 4 cloves
Ginger – 1 inch
Garam masala – 1 teaspoon
Chilli Powder – 1 teaspoon (adjust to your spice level)
Coriander seeds powder – 1 teaspoon
Salt to taste
Coriander leaves / cliantro – 3 tablespoon (finely chopped)
Oil – 1 tablespoon
Urad dhal – 1 teaspoon
Green chillies – 2 split into 2
Curry leaves – 10
Turmeric powder – 1/4 teaspoon

Method:

Heat pan / kadai. Add oil when it is hot add cumin seeds, Urad dhal and let it crackle. Add garlic, green chillies, ginger and onion and fry till it is transparent. Add tomatoes and fry till mushy. Add masala powders (coriander powder, garam masala, chilli powder and turmeric powder) fry for 2 mins. Add Tomatoes and fry for 1 min. Add sprouted green gram dal and 1/2 to 3/4 cup water and salt. Transfer to pressure cooker and cook it till 3-4 whistles. When it cool down open the lid. If it is too watery boil it till it reaches desired consistency.

Add coriander leaves and serve hot.
