After big hit of whey water tofu soup these days I am trying out a lot of whey water based soup. Whey water itself is high in protein. My kids love the beans. So I have decided to try out soup with mixed beans. It is super easy yet very tasty recipe. Why don’t you try this out when you do Paneer at home next time?
Ingredients
Whey water (from Making paneer) – 3-4 cups
Onion – 1 (finely chopped)
Ginger Garlic paste – 2 teaspoon
Tomatoes – 2 (finely chopped)
Mixed beans – 2 cups ( Rajma, White Chana (chickpeas), Black Chana), black eye beans)
Salt per taste
Pepper to taste
Red chilli powder -1/4 teaspoon
Cumin seeds powder – 1/2 teaspoon
Oil – 2 teaspoon
Coriander leaves – 1 tablespoon (finely chopped)
Method
Wash and soak the mixed beans overnight or for 6 hours. Drain the soaked water and cook it with salt and water till fully cooked. If using pressure cooker cook till 2-3 whistles. Heat pan and add oil. When it is hot add onion and fry till transparent. Add ginger garlic paste. Fry for another 2-3 mins. Add tomatoes. Fry till it is mushy. Switch it off. And let it cool down. Grind to smooth paste.
Heat the Pan again. Add grinded paste. Add cooked beans and mix well. Add whey water. Add salt, chilli powder, cumin powder and pepper powder. Let it boil. Let it boil. Add coriander leaves and switch off the flame.
Serve hot.
