Nei Urundai Recipe ( Moong Dal Ladoo ) – A Simple Diwali Sweet

Yet another sweet (other than Rawa Urundai (rava balls))  which can be done easily if we make the flour and keep it in fridge. When I was carrying my 2nd son I was craving for this sweet. After his birth for sometime I didn’t do it at all. Now It is back in season.
Ingredients:
Green Gram Dhal (Moong Dhal) – 2 cups
Sugar – 2 cups ( I have used only 1)
Ghee – ½ cup
Cashew Nuts – 10

Method:
Fry the Moong dhal in a dry kadai till it turns light brown. Powder in a mixie together with sugar.
In a kadai, put one teaspoon ghee and fry the cashew nuts. Add to the flour. Mix thoroughly. Same kadai, put the remaining ghee and heat.
When the mixture is warm, press it into small lemon size balls. Finish all the flour like this.

Store it in air tight container and enjoy

This sweet is reminding me that Diwali is around the corner. The festival is not complete without such an inviting sweet and I still remember helping my mum to roll out the ladoo. These days we have ready made nei urundai flour but it's overly sweet. I am up there looking at the outcome and how you made them.
