Tofu Omelette – Tofu Chilla – Tofu Cheela – Breakfast recipes

I forgot I had 1 full box of silken tofu in the fridge. I brought new one during my weekly groceries shopping. So I was initially thinking of making Tofu sandwich. Later I was thinking of some dish without bread as kids pack bread for morning breakfast during school days. I remember seeing Tofu Omelette at Sreevalli’s space Ammajirecipes. Decided to try out that. Every one loved it. It is perfect start for the day
Ingredients:

 
Silken Tofu – 1 pack
Milk – 1/4 cup ( I have used hi-low milk)
Soya Sauce  – 2 tablespoon
Garlic – 1 teaspoon
Salt per taste
Corn Starch – 1 tablespoon
Besan/ Begal gram flour / Chick pea flour – 5 tablespoon
Water for making it to smooth batter
Coriander leaves – 2 tablespoon (finely chopped)
Spring onion (green part) – 1 tablespoon
Red chilli powder – 1 to 2 teaspoon (adjust to your spiciness)
Turmeric powder – 1/4 teaspoon
Oil for shallow frying the omelette

 

Method:
Mix in all the ingredients except oil and make it to smooth batter. If needed add water. The batter will be as thick as Ada batter bit thicker than normal dosa batter

Heat the flat tawa. When it is hot pour a laddle full of batter and spread it arround. Sprinkle 1/4 teaspoon of oil around it.When the edges start to brown turn it around and cook the other side too. 

Serve it hot.
