Andhra Raw Banana (Valaikai, Aratikaya) Fry

My 2nd son loves Raw Banana Fry however my first one hates it.. So I need to find a day in which the lunch is only for 2nd son. This goes very well with any variety rice. Most of the time I used to do this with sambar powder however sometime ago I was having raw banana poriyal at one of the cousin function. Even though it looked the same but tasted different. But she cannot give me recipe as it was done by some one engaged for the function. I used my own guess and try it out.. It turned out to be pretty good.



Ingredients:


Raw Banana – 4
Red Chillies – 6 (Adjust it per your spice level)
Coriander Seeds – 1 teaspoon
Urad Dhal – 2 teaspoon
Bengal Gram Dhal – 1 and 1/2 tespoon
Salt as requried
Oil – 2 Tablespoon
Mustard seeds – 1/4 Teaspoon
Turmeric Powder – 1/4 Teaspoon
Curry Leaves – 1 String


Method:


Peel Outer Skin and cut banana into thin round slices. Keep immersed in water till required
Dry roast Red Chillies, Coriander Seeds, Urad dhal – 1 teaspoon, Bengal Gram dhal and pound that into coarse powder
Heat the Kada and when it is hot add oil
When Oil is hot add mustard seeds and it start to splutter add urad dhal and Curry leaves
Fry till Urad dhal is brown
Add Cut Raw banana
Add Salt, Turmeric powder and mix it well
Close and let it cook till 1/2 cooked
Add masala powder  and mix it well
Let it fully cooked. Remove from fire and serve

    nice recipe.. cooking the raw banana before itself will be much tastier… this is not a suggestion.. just a note point 🙂
