Other day when I was talking to my mum she was talking about bitter gourd powder that her friend passed to her.. She said it was nice and no taste of bitter gourd.. and she just listed the ingredients to me without any measurement. Tempted by the way she was describing I have decided to try out. I have add Sesame seed as extra ingredients. The powder came out pretty good
Ingredients:
Bitter gourd – 1 (I have used longer variety. When roasted I got 1/2 cup)
Roasted gram dhal – 1/2 cup (I used equal amount of roasted bitter gourd. If you want little bitter version you can reduce this one)
Curry leaves – 20 (optional)
Roasted Sesame Seeds – 2 tablespoon
Pepper corn – 1/2 teaspoon
Red chillies – 3 ( I have used shorter version.. Gundu millagai)
Salt to taste
Method:
Chop bitter gourd as small as possible. And dry roast till moisture is absorbed. Then Microwave it for 10-12 mins or till it is crispy. Stir in between
Bitter gourd will be crispy like what you see below…Dry roast curry leaves. Dry roast Pepper corn and Red chillies.
Add all the ingredients in the blender or food processor and grind to find powder
Enjoy it with Hot steamed rice or idli or dosa
