Sat dinner is always challenging as most of my batter runs out by Friday and I am running around to complete the weekend vegetables/groceries shopping. So I always resort to some dosa with vegetable/dosa which doesn’t require any fermentation. I will grind this in mixie itself. Bread Dosa I wanted to try for quite some time but I was a little bit skeptical. I even made 1 dosa early to check with my family members just to be sure as I didn’t have any backup options. It came out pretty well. They loved it
Ingredients
Rava / Semolina – 1.5 cup
Rice flour – 1 cup
Bread – 10 ( i have used Whitebread)
Salt to taste
Green chilies – 3 (adjust to your spice level)
Cumin seeds – 1 teaspoon
Pepper Corns – 5 corns
Curry leaves – 20
Milk – 1 cup
Oil to cook the dosa (for shallow fry)
Method:
Remove the edges of the bread and soak it in 1/4 cup of water.
In blender / Mixer / Food Processor add Rava. Rice flour, Green chilies, cumin seeds, Peppercorn, Curry leaves and grind to a smooth paste with 1/2 cup of water
Add Bread milk and required salt. Grind to smooth paste again.
Make sure the batter is in Dosa consistency
Heat a flat pan and take a ladle full of batter and spread outward like how u do dosa. This dosa will be slightly thicker (won’t be roast) Drizzle oil around it (I have used 1/4 teaspoon) turn it over. And cook again.
Take it out and serve hot
