Cabbage chutney

Wanted to make some chutney which is vegetable base and goes well with Dosa. When I checked the fridge I saw Cabbage and it is has been while since I made Cabbage Chutney. Normally my husband and kids were not big fan of vegetable base chutney. So this time I didn’t want to tell them what it is till they are done with the dinner :-). I can use chutneys to go with rice and make it as full meal. Cabbage chutney  can go well with idli, dosa, chapatti, dosa or uttapam


Ingredients:

Onion – 2 (Finely chopped)
Garlic -3 (Finely chopped)
Cabbage – 1/4 kg ( Grated / Finely chopped)
Red Chillies – 5
fenugreek seeds – 1/2 teaspoon
tamarind – small ball
Salt as required
Oil – 1 1/2 tablespoon
mustard seeds – 1/4 teaspoon
Curry leaves – 1 string


Method:
Heat the Kada and add oil
Dry roast Fenugreek seeds and Red Chillies. Keep it aside
When the oil is hot add onion and garlic fry till it is soft , cooked and light brown
Add Cabbage and fry till soft
combine all the ingredients and Tamarind, Salt in blender and grind nicely
Heat the kada and add oil when it is hot add mustard seeds. When it start to splutter add curry leaves and add to grinded chutney and mix it well
Enjoy the dish
