Kids are having school holiday. I wanted to do something different for the breakfast. Both of my kids and husband love Carrot so decided to do carrot sandwich. They wanted the one which is done using sandwich maker. It is healthy and good start for the day. If you want to avoid butter totally you can but the sandwich will not be crispy
Ingredients:
For Carrot Stuffing
Carrot – 3 (Grated)
Sambar Powder – 2 Teaspoon (Reduce or increase according to your spice)
Mustard seeds – 1/4 Teaspoon
Urad Dhal – 1 Teaspoon
Oil – 1 Teaspoon
Salt to taste
Bread:
Whole meal bread – 14 slices
Butter – 7 teaspoon
Method:
Carrot Stuffing:
Head kada
Add Oil and when oil is hot add mustard seeds
When start to splutter add urad dhal and fry till it is brown
Add Carrot and fry till raw smell goes off
Add sambar powder and salt and cook for another 5-7 mins
Switch it off
For Sandwich
Apply butter on the bread (Each bread about 1/4 teaspoon)
Keep the bread (butter side at the bottom)
Put 1 1/2 tablespoon of carrot
Take another bread and apply another 1/4 teaspoon of bread and keep the side without butter touching the carrot and buttered side on the top
Close the sandwich maker and toast it (select the bread sandwich option or the bread become brown)
