ChenTeng – A Healthy White Fungus Singapore Desert

Happy mother’s day…here comes a simple and refreshing dessert to nurish your skin… I was  introduced to a few Chinese traditional deserts which are mild in sweet but good for skin / body by my colleagues. Cheng Teng is one such dessert. I do this very often. I find it is quite refreshing …
Ingredients:
White Fungus – 50g (Soak it for 1-2 hours and remove the head. Chop it into small pieces)

Lotus Seeds – 20g (soak for 1-2 hours and remove the center green stem. Otherwise it will be bitter)

Dried Longan – 20g
Gingo Nuts – 40g (Soak it for 1-2 hours. Remove the outer hard skin)

Red Dates – 10-15
Cane Sugar – to taste ( I have added 1/4 cup)
Dried Lilly bulb – 1/4 cup
Water – 2 litters

Method:

Bring water to boil and add all the ingredients into it. Boil it for 45 mins to 1 hour in medium flame

Enjoy it. I find it is very refreshing and quite soothing

All the ingredients sounds very interesting. I'm wondering what it tastes like. I had something of this kind in Thailand but I'm not sure about it..
