Tofu is a must in our household at least twice a week. My kids prefer some snacks with it instead of gravy. So I mostly make snacks with it. The other day I was at one of Vegetarian Chinese restaurant. I had crispy tofu which is shallow fried and liked it. I was pretty sure my kids would love it. I have tried this simple snack. As expected, my kids enjoyed it. After that I tried it a few times and every time it got finished in no time
Ingredients:
Tofu – 3 blocks (~ 500 g)
Salt to taste
Bread crumbs – 1/4 cup
Turmeric powder – 1/2 teaspoon (Optional)
Chilli powder – 1/2 teaspoon
Corn flour – 1/4 cup
Oil – 2 tablespoon (for shallow fry)
Method:
Remove extra moisture and slice the tofu. Add all the ingredients except Oil and mix well. Mix gently don’t break the tofu.
Leave it aside for 30 mins.
Heat oil and arrange the marinated tofu cubes in single layer. Fry till all the sides are browned
Serve hot
