I first tasted Falafel in US 15 years back. When I visited US my colleague who knows I am vegetarians asked me to try the wrap with Falafel. Without knowing what was it I was hesitant at first. She told me it is vegetarian and it is using chickpeas. I loved it. I told her it almost tastes as our South Indian Vada. It is perfect snack
Ingredients:
Dried Chick Peas – 1 cup (garbanzo beans), soaked in water overnight
Onion – 1 (Medium) Chopped finely
Garlic – 2 cloves (Chopped finely)
Cumin Seeds – 1 teaspoon
Garlic – 2 cloves (Chopped finely)

Sesame Seeds – 1 teaspoon
Coriander leaves / Cilantro – 2 tablespoon (chopped finely)
Green Chilies – 1
All purpose flour – 2 tablespoon
All purpose flour – 2 tablespoon
Oil for frying
Salt to taste
Salt to taste
Method:
Drain water from soaked chick peas and grind it to coarse paste along with the onion, garlic, chilies, salt, Cumin seeds, Coriander Leaves and grind to slightly coarse paste. Add sesame seeds and all purpose flour. Mix well.
Mix well. Heat curved pan and add oil (enough for deep frying). When the oil is hot then take small ball of falafel dough (slightly more than marble size & less than lemon size) and put it in hot oil. Cook it in medium heat and turn it around once in a while (when it is fully cooked you will get nice brown color). When it is fully cooked Remove from the oil and drain on paper towels. Repeat with remaining falafel.
