Garlic Chutney – Simple spicy chutney recipe

This is a simple and flavourful chutney. This is one of my favourite. This goes extremely well with idly, dosa.. I use it as spread on bread too. This can be kept for a long time, in fridge it can last up to 2 weeks. This definitely comes in handy after my busy work at office..This would definitely score with all garlic lovers.
Ingredients


Garlic – 2 cups (chopped into 1/4 inch cubes)
Tamarind – marble size ball
Red Chillies- 7-10 (per your spice level)
Salt per taste
Oil – 5 tablespoon
Grated fresh coconut – 1 teaspoon
Mustard seeds – 1/4 teaspoon
Curry leaves – 10 



Method:
Heat the kada and add 4 tablespoon of oil. when it is hot add garlic and chillies. Fry till they are crisp or till light brown color

Add Coconut,  Tamarind (tear into small pieces) and salt and fry for another min. Switch it off and let it cool down. When it cool down grind it to coarse paste using blender or mixer

Heat the rest of the oil in the kada and add mustard seeds and curry leaves. When it start to pop add grinded paste. fry for another 2-4 mins.

Switch it off and keep it in air tight container. Use clean spoon every time you take it.
