Ginger Rasam – ginger soup – No onion and garlic rasam – Healthy soup – Simple dish for rice

I love ginger. Dishes made from fresh ginger juice wow! really so tasty.. I love to have this as soup / starter. Esp when you are not feeling well this is perfect dish. This doesn’t require any onion or garlic.Perfect for fasting recipe too. Try this and provide your feedback
Ingredients:


Mustard seeds – 1/4 teaspoon
Curry leaves – 10
Asafoetida/ Hing – a pinch
Lemon juice – 1 tablespoon
Ginger juice – 1 tablespoon
Tomato – 1 (chopped finely)
Salt to taste
Oil – 1/2 teaspoon
Coriander leaves – 1 tablespoon (finely chopped)
Jaggery – 1/2 teaspoon (optional)


Dry roast and grind



Thuvar dhal – Toor Dal – Thuvaram paruppu – 1 teaspoon
Chana dal – bengal gram dhal – kadalai paruppu – 1 teaspoon
Cumin seeds – 1 teaspoon
Pepper corns – 1 teaspoon
Dry Red chillies – 1



Method:


Dry roast the ingredients under dry roast and grind section. Grind to fine powder. Add 1 cup of water. Keep it aside

Heat the oil and add mustard seeds, asafoetida. Let it pop. Add curry leaves fry for 10 sec. Add Tomatoes and fry for 30 sec. 

Add one cup of water, Turmeric powder and grinded powder. Let it boil add jaggry and ginger juice. 

When bubbles start to form switch it off. Add coriander leaves and lemon juice. Mix well.

Serve hot as starter or with steamed rice
