My whole family is big on chaats. I am so surprised that I haven’t posted sev puri on my blog. I usually make every week for my sons. I took it for granted. The other day, my sister, who was visiting me, asked for a chaat item and I did sev puri. She then asked me why this recipe is not on the blog.
Then I realized both Bhel Puri and Sev Puri was not posted on my blog. So I wanted to try this Sev Puri first and will post Bhel Puri very soon. This chaat is everyone’s favourite especially the homemade ones since they can add their own toppings (for example, no onion for my first son, no tomatoes for my second son, and no green chutney for my husband). If I have cooked channa, sometimes, I use that, too. You can use either Pani puri or Papdi chaat Puri (use what you prefer) I have used papdi chaat puri here
Ingredients:
Flat puri or puffed puri – 6
Green chutney – 1 tablespoon
Sweet Chutney – 2 tablespoons
Sev / Omapodi – 1/4 cup
Chaat masala – 2 generous pinch
Roasted Cumin powder – 1/4 teaspoon
Red chilli powder – 1/8 teaspoon (Adjust to your spice level)
Cooked Potato – 1/4 cup (cubed)
Tomatoes – 1 tablespoon
Onion – 1 tablespoon
Salt to taste
Coriander leaves – 2 teaspoons
Method:
Take puri in serving plate. Add potato, tomatoes, and onion. Add green and sweet chutney
Sprinkle sev and all of the spices. Add coriander leaves. Top it off with the chutneys.
Serve! (You can prepare all the ingredients before, but once you arrange it, serve it immediately.)
