There are certain food / ingredients I must have every day otherwise my meal is not complete. Horse Gram is my favourite from my childhood however my mum does only horse gram porridge. I just love it. When she does it I have it for almost every meal. Now I do almost all the dishes with it. Luckily my whole family love it too. This is very healthy sundal salad. I do that for offering to god too. As there is no Onion in it
Ingredients:
Horse Gram / Kollu – 1 cup
Carrot – 1/2 cup grated (reduce it if you think it is too much for it)
Oil – 1 teaspoon
Red Dry chillies – 4 (Adjust it to your spice level)
Mustard seeds – 1/2 teaspoon
Curry leaves – 10-15
Urad dhal – 2 teaspoon
Method:
Wash the horse gram and soak it for 4-6 hours or overnight. Drain the soaked water and add new water and salt and pressure cook it till 2 whistles. Drain the water and keep it aside
Heat the kada and add oil. When it is hot add mustard seeds. When it start to pop add curry leaves and urad dhal. Fry till dhal is brown in color. Add Cooked horse gram dhal. Fry for couple of mins. Add carrot and mix well. Fry for additional 2 -3 mins.
And enjoy it
