Keerai Tofu Recipe – Spinach with Tofu – Simple side dish for rice / Bread – Protein rich Vegetarian food – Healthy side

I got exposed to Tofu after I moved to Singapore. It is a good option for vegetarian because it has protein. There are different type of Tofu I always buy the harder one. Like typical Singaporean my kids love Tofu. This dish is very healthy and perfect for anyone who is looking for protein rich food. It is also rich in vitamins due to the addition of Spinach. So do try out this balanced dish for your family

Ingredients:

Spinach – 1 medium bunch
Tofu – 400g
Garlic paste – 1 teaspoon
Ginger paste  – 1/2 teaspoon
Onion – 1 (chopped finely)
Oil – 3 teaspoon
Red chillies – 2 (Roughly broken)
Mustard seeds – 1/4 teaspoon
Urad dhal – 1 teaspoon
Grated coconut – 1 tablespoon

Method:

Crumble Tofu keep it aside. Heat the pan with 2 teaspoon of oil and add ginger/ garlic paste and fry for 2 mins


Add crumbled Tofy and fry till moisture is absorbed. keep it aside


Heat the pan with 1 teaspoon of oil. Add Mustard seeds. let it pop. Add urad dhal and red chillies. Fry till dhal is brown in color. Add onion and fry till transparent. Add chopped spinach. Cook it with required salt (Don’t close it)


Once cooked add fried Tofu and coconut. Mix well. And cook for another min.


Switch it off and serve hot

    So divine. Indeed tofu is popular over here and lots of types. Perhaps why we hardly use paneer. I love the wholesomeness of the meal as well.
