I wanted to try sweet paratha for quite sometime. I had sweet-less Koya (store bought) in the fridge. I wanted to try something which can be mildly sweetened. I was not sure whether kids would like it. So I have added less sugar so the paratha has more of milk taste than sweet. But if you prefer it to be sweeter you can add more sugar. I have used fresh coconut in this recipe but you can try with dry coconut too. This is perfect for after school kids or as an evening snack.
Ingredients
Stuffing:
Koya – 1 cup
Coconut – 1 cup
Sugar – 1/4 cup
Almonds – 1/4 cup
Ghee – 2 teaspoon
For Paratha
Wheat flour – 2 cup
salt to taste
water as needed
Method:
Take wheat flour and salt in a bowl and add water to make soft pliable dough. Keep it aside for 30 mins ( I have doubled the flour so that I can make plain chapathi too)
Heat ghee in a pan. Add chopped almonds fry till brown in color. Remove it. In the same ghee add Coconut and fry till slight brown color
Add this to crumbled koya, add fried almonds. Add sugar to it. Mix it make a stuffing.
Take lemon size wheat flour, and little smaller size stuffing. Roll the wheat flour into small disc.
Keep stuffing inside and cover it like in pic.
Roll it again into little thicker paratha. Heat pan and place rolled paratha. Apply ghee around it. cook it in low flame till brown spot appear.
Turn it over and cook other side.
Serve hot.
