Recent days I am turning to sorbet than ice creams. It is a good option for people who is allergic to dairy or having vegan food. You get a lot of fruity flavored sorbet in the market. It is really refreshing for this scorching heat. I had tons of lemon in the fridge so I wanted to make good use of it. Having lemon as part of your daily diet helps to balance your digestive system. Recently I met few of my friends who strongly recommended having lemon (of course in the form of juice) everyday. They claim that it has improved their immunity and general well being. This is my first attempt in making sorbet and it came out pretty good.
Ingredients:
Lemon juice – 1/3 cup
Sugar – 1/3 cup
water – 1/3 cup
Lemon zest – 1/4 teaspoon
Sea salt a pinch
Video:
Method:
Boil water and sugar till sugar dissolves completely. Let it cool down
When it is completely cool down add lemon juice, Lemon zest mix well.
Freeze it for 2 hrs. Take it out and run it in blender / food processor. Freeze again. Repeat the process for 4-5 times every one hour to get smooth sorbet.
Freeze overnight. It would be little harder to scoop out than ice cream
Serve chilled
